When replacing worn tyres you must stick to the same size and tyre type, ideally keep the same tread pattern. This will help eliminate noise and reduce wear. A general rule of thumb is to keep the best tyres on the rear as this improves handling in wet weather conditions.
Also remember tyres with a deep tread are less likely to puncture which is important as a car with a blown out tyre at the rear is more difficult to handle.
Having the correct tyre pressure is vital to your safety on the road. Under inflated tyres affect handling and grip causing irregular or unpredictable vehicle behaviour and can suffer from a dangerous sudden rapid deflation, especially on high-speed motorway journeys.
By keeping your tyres at their correct pressure you can also reduce running costs. Under inflated tyres require more force to make them turn so your car can use more fuel. With both Under & Over inflation tyres wear out more quickly.
